150 two man teams showed up
Saturday morning, April 24th, for the 25th annual Norris Craft Open on Watts Bar Lake. The
weather was perfect, unlike the couple of weekends when we experienced winds in the 20 to
30 mph range. For some reason the fish didn't understand this though. Fishing has been
really on and off this spring and Saturday was no exception.
Claude Robison, of Lenoir City and Bud Rose of Knoxville teamed up for the winning catch
of 5 fish weighing 20.08 pounds. Robison and Rose, unlike many of the other fisherman,
reported catching two to three limits of fish Saturday but the five fish they weighed in
were all caught by 10:00 A. M. Their winning catch came from the Tennessee side from 1 to
3 feet deep, slow rolling a spinnerbait. For their efforts they brought home a beautiful
new 2000 FXLD Vee Norris Craft on a Hustler Tandem Trailer. We would like to take this
opportunity to congratulate Claude and Bud on a job well done.
This year we were able to award cash and prizes to the top 40 teams. We would like to
thank all the participants and our sponsors for making this year's Norris Craft Open a
success.
